These red heart press on nails are embroidery in lacquer: sheer pink nails with raised red ornament — a large heart framed in dots, scroll flourishes, tiny leaves, sunburst medallions and beaded borders — all drawn in glossy red so it stands up from the surface like piped icing. Two hearts sit at the centre of the ring fingers. The almond shape is short and comfortable. It suits Valentine’s, of course, but the red reads as folk art the rest of the year.

Every line is piped by hand, so the pattern has the slight irregularity of real needlework.
